Healthy skin comes from inside. If you want the best skin possible for your wedding day, you must consider the foods you are putting on your plate. They should contain all the essential nutrients for good skin.

VITAMIN A is one of the most important components for healthy skin, it is necessary for the maintenance and repair of skin tissue. Low-fat dairy products are a good source, include these in your diet, particularly low-fat natural yoghurt. SHop for a good quality brand with high levels of Acidophilus, this live bacteria is fantastic for intestinal health. Anything that helps maintain normal digestion is going to be reflected in healthy looking skin.

VITAMIN B COMPLEX is a requirement for skin health, although the single most important B Vitamin is Biotin. This is a nutrient that forms the basis of the skin, nail and hair cells. Eat bananas, eggs, oatmeal and rice.

VITAMINS C and E are high in antioxidants, they help prevent free radical damage. Free radicals gobble up collagen and elastin, the fibres that support skin structure, which in turn cause wrinkles and other signs of aging. You may be able to help the skin healthier and supple by making sure you get enough antioxidant vitamins. Citrus fruits, strawberries, guava, red chillis, broccoli, cauliflowers and leafy green vegetables are stacked with Vitamins C. Brown rice, bananas, carrots, egg yolk, broccoli and parsley contains Vitamin E.

Minerals like ZINC are also on the list for healthy skin. Zinc benefits the hair and nails as well as the skin. It helps to slow the aging process and is involved with the structure of the cell wall. Where there are breakouts, zinc works to clear the skin by toning down oil production, preventing the breakouts from occuring or speeding up the healing process so the breakouts clear up faster. Oysters, lean meat and poultry should be on the menu for Zinc.

SELENIUM is also important, so eat whole grain cereals, seafood, garlic and eggs.

COPPER at the right levels in the body, together with Vitamin C and Zinc, help to develop elastin, the fibres that support the skin’s structure from underneath. Copper is found in may foods and a deficiency is rarely seen.

ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS are also a must for skin health. They are responsible for healthy cell walls, which keep water in. The stronger the cell walls the better the cells can hold moisture. This results in plumper, younger looking skin.

IN HOUSE COORDINATOR (1): Maganda ang outcome ng wedding namin. Maayos ang flow and hindi kami nahirapan sa mga instructions nila. Nasunod yung gusto naming song sa wedding, nakakarelax pakinggan. Ok naman ang treatment sa amin. Wala kaming problema ni hubby sa kanila during the ceremony
CONCERNS/ADVICE: Be sure pagdating sa SSC, iturn over nyo (from OTD coordinator) sa in house coordinator ng Church yung mga dapat iturnover (misalette, unity candle, etc.) para walang delay Mag allot at least 15 minutes for proper turnover Be sure also na inform/clarify nyo yung parish office about sa sasabihin ng pari (kasi nung end ng ceremony, nakalimutan ni Father na magsabi ng “you may now kiss the bride”)ayun, si hubby na lang naginitiate hehehe

SUITE – Bride and Groom’s room (1): Super love namin ni hubby yung room. Ang lawak ng room plus malinis Very friendly ang mga staff To the rescue sila pag may request kami like sa laundry and room service
RECEPTION VENUE – Pandanggo Hall, Fiesta Pavilion (1): ang ganda ganda ng Pandanggo Hall, no need for drapings Very classical ang set-up. We love it talaga Very accessible rin sa comfort room and ang lawak lawak ng space. Tamang tama sya for add ons (Musicians, Photobooth, etc.)
FOOD (1): Binabalik balikan ng mga guests namin yung food. Sarap to the bones hehehe Hindi nga lang kami nakakain ni hubby ng food (saying hehehe) pero pagnagkakasalubong kami ng mga guests, all praises sila sa food. Two thumbs up din sila sa soup ceremony ng Hotel Ibang klase daw ang dating Naamazed ang mga bisita namin
VENUE FOR PICTORIAL (1): May pictorial kami sa Lobby ng Hotel and sa Poolside Super happy kami ni hubby kasi pinagbigyan kami magpictorial sa 2nd floor ng pool side (with chairs – you may view our wedding pics sa Niceprint website) Katatapos lang marenovate yung pool area kaya todo pictorial kami ni hubby Very accommodating yung mga staff sa Pool side. Binigyan pa kami ng drinks hehehe

FLOWERS: MARIELLE’S FLOWER SHOP
OWNER – MS. MARICAR (1): Madaling kausap si Ms. Maricar Nagsuggest sya ng mga flowers na babagay sa wedding namin (with our color motif). Maaga sila dumating sa Manila Hotel para iturnover yung mga flowers plus ayusin yung reception venue Marunong tumupad sa usapan.
FLOWERS (1): Love ko ang bridal bouquet ko, tulips with our color motif ganda ganda…and sa reception, all praises ang mga bisita lalo na ang parents namin Nagstand out sya sa Pandanggo Hall (Calla Lily plus ilang flowers sa ibaba). After the wedding, inuwi ng mga bisita namin yung mga flowers Tuwang tuwa sila

CAKE: HEARTS AND BELLS CAKE ARTISTRY
STAFF – MS. MARICEL (2): Ok naman kausap si Ms. Maricel and yung boss nya (sorry, I forgot his name), pinamili kami ng designs ng wedding cake namin. Ang tagal din namin nagdecide kasi ang daming choices kaya buti na lang sa bridal fair sa Megamall last February, ayun finally nagdecide na rin kami ng cake design plus cupcake
WEDDING CAKE (1): Cutie cutie ng wedding cake namin. Nasunod yung specifications and color motif. Pati yung cupcake, sooo cutie Medyo konting concern lang sa cake ceremony, masyado matigas yung cake, hindi namin maslice ng maayos yung cake, ayun, konti lang nakuha namin hehehe pero sulit Sarap sarap yummy! hindi sya gaanong katamis.
CONCERNS/ADVICE: As far as I know, kasali sya sa suppliers for the w@w tag, pero nung naginquire kami sa kanila before, sabi ni Ms. Maricel, iinquire daw muna nya sa boss nya kung pwede pa ang w@w tag (tama ba yun?), tapos eventually, wala raw silang discount. Hindi yata nya alam na kasali ang Hearts and Bells sa w@w tag. Hayyy…akala namin makakadiscount kami sa kanila yun pala hindi. Pero ok lang If you’re planning to get Hearts and Bells as your cake supplier, be sure to clarify kung member sila or ano yung promo nila for the w@w tag. Sayang din ang discount na makukuha nyo sa kanila.

PROJECTOR: DENNIS SY (1): ang bait bait ng Sir Dennis dali niyang kausap. Hindi kami nagkita personally, text messages lang and tawag communication namin. Super linaw ng screen, nag enjoy ang mga guests kasi nakikita nila clearly yung video

WEDDING RINGS – SUAREZ WEDDING RINGS (1):
Sa lahat ng napagcanvass namin, dito kami bumagsak sa Suarez Wedding Rings.
Akala namin nung una, mahal ang mga wedding rings nila pero thank God, dito
naming nakuha yung ¡§the ONE¡¨. Two tone sya na wedding rings. Eto pa maganda sa
kanila, installment yung payment mode nila so hindi mabigat sa bulsa ļ Marunong
din sila tumupad sa usapan nila na 1 month yung production time.
NOEL & KRISEL¡¦S VERDICT: definitely, the best ang wedding rings namin. super

BARONGS – CASEDO’S EMBROIDERY
OWNER – MANG REY CASEDO (1): Pagdating sa customer service, number 1 si Mang
Rey. Willing syang pumunta from Laguna to my residence sa Quezon City para
kuhanin ng measurements ang hubby ko, FOB, yung isang Ninong namin and ng nephew
ko Marunong tumupad sa usapan. Never nalelate sa mga appointments namin.
QUALITY:
HUBBY (2): Maganda ang barong ni hubby…yung tela nya, the best. Sinukatan sya
then nung nasa amin na yung barong, ayun, saktong sakto lang sa kanya yung
barong. The funny part is…hindi muna sya nagpasukat ng barong (kasi pamahiin
hehehe) until sinabihan sya ng in laws ko na sukatin at malaman kung may
problema. Ayun nga, kasya lang sa kanya..walang allowance if ever na tumaba sya.
Yung pants nya, sakto lang din. Pag umupo na sya, hindi na kaya. Yung quality ng
pants, hindi raw ganong kaayos.
NOEL’S VERDICT: Maganda ang tela ng barong ni Mang Rey pero next time, sa
Onesimus na lang sya uli magpapagawa.
FOB, NEPHEW, NINONG (1): Wala akong narinig na reklamo sa kanila. Maganda ang
pagkakatahi, hindi na kailangan ng adjustment.
CONCERNS: If you’re planning na magpatahi kay Mang Rey, be sure to ask thru text
or tawag kung kailangan na ba nya ng DP. Sa case namin at first, sabi nya pag
gawa na yung mga barong then nung nagmeet kami for the first time, hiningan kami
ng DP na 7k. Buti na lang at pwede ang cheke hehehe. Pero wala syang resibo nung
time namin. Pinirmahan nya yung measurement na papel plus yung amount na
binayaran and ng balance namin.
TIP: Just in case wala syang resibo, gawa na lang kayo ng acknowledgement letter
para may evidence kayo. Iba na rin nagiingat hehehe

INVITATION – PRINT DIVAS
STAFF – MS. JASMIN (2): Ok naman kausap si Jasmin kaya lang minsan pag may
tinatanong kami, di nya alam agad ang isasagot. Panay sabi na email na lang para
mas madali.
QUALITY (1.5):
MOCK-UP: Nagsubmit kami ng mock up ng invites namin 2 weeks before Christmas.
Nung una, sasabihan ba naman kami na after Christmas na lang daw yung mock up
kasi dami daw nila job orders (tama ba yun…samantalang nung bridal fair sa
Megamall, sinabihan kami ni Jasmin na wala pang 1 week eh ok na ang mock up). So
in short, pinarequest namin na iprioritize yung mock up kasi we need to finalize
asap para maiprint na. Tumupad naman sila sa usapan so after a week, nasa amin
na. Walang corrections…sa text and sa kulay (sample namin vs. prinout nila).
OC kami ni hubby so sa mock up satisfied kami.
FINAL INVITES: At last nakuha na namin yung final invites pero….hmmm, parang
magkaiba yung color ng lavander sa ibang invites. Iba yung kinalabasan sa sample
mock up na naapproved. Yung iba naman, pareho. We asked them kung paano nangyari
yun, sabi nila, “kasi bago ang ink”, hayyy…pero hindi na naman mapapansin yun
ng guests pero medyo inis ng konti dahil sa colors. Quality ng printing is ok.
LAYOUT (1): syempre labor of love namin ito ni hubby DIY yung layout, since
hubby is a Graphic Designer, nagconceptualize kami for the invites and good
thing, nagustuhan sya ng mga guests namin. I’m so proud of my hubby…yihee!
NOEL & KRISEL’S VERDICT: For other printing needs, Print Divas pa rin kami.
Super ganda ng quality (except for the konting error sa kulay)
CONCERNS/ADVICE: Be extra careful sa pagcheck ng inyong invites, from the mock
up hanggang sa final invites (yung actual printout na binigay nyo sa kanila,
equal sa printout ng Print Divas). Double check the spelling, grammar, color ng
invites,etc.

ATE GIGY – MANANAHI (1): She’s very nice. Super tiyaga sya sa mga tanong ko
Ang nagustuhan ko rin sa kanya, nagsasabi na sya ng maaga kung kaya nya gawin
ang isang gown design o hindi (kaysa umasa yung client nya). Loves namin ito ni
hubby.
QUALITY (1): Super satisfied ako sa outcome ng bridal gown ko. Very simple and
nakuha nya yung design na gusto ko. Plus, love ko ang aking trail pati sina
hubby and relatives namin, naamazed sa outcome ng gown ko. For the entourage,
nagbigay lang yung iba ng sukat at dinala sa mananahi, thank God at nung binigay
na namin sa kanila yung mga gown nila, sakto lang sa kanila and ganda ganda ng
quality. Hindi na kailangan ipaadjust.
NOEL & KRISEL’S VERDICT: We love Ate Gigy:) Super satisfied kami sa outcome
Affordable ang mga gowns nya pero hindi magsacrifice yung quality. The best!

CUSTOMER SERVICE (1): We love Leo! Super bait bait nya (pati yung assistant
nyang si JM). Super maasikaso sya simula pa lang sa prenup namin sa Ecopark
hanggang sa mismong wedding namin. Retouch to the max kung kinakailangan. Very
professional katrabaho.
ACTUAL WORK (1): Bumilib kaming lahat sa gawa nya…ako, si MIL, MOH and ng
sister ko galing galing nyang gumawa Naayusan kaming lahat before the
ceremony. Sinasabihan kami kung alin ang mas bagay sa amin na make up and hair
do Si MIL, perfectionist sa HMUA…pero nung kay Leo, todo praises sya Na
achieve yung gusto kong simple look Super satisfied kami sa itsura namin nung
wedding. Ganda ganda hehehe

EMCEE – MARJORIE “MARJ” DIZON (1): First time namin nameet si Marj 3 days before
our wedding (yung original emcee namin na common friend namin ni hubby, eh
nagkasakit, chicken pox pa). Thank God available sya sa wedding day namin. Sabi
pa nga ni Marj, March 1 na nga lang daw ang vacant schedule nya kasi yung buong
March nya eh booked na Galing! galing! Dami nyang naiisip na ideas for the
program Binigyan lang namin sya ng script then may dinagdag na lang sya
ACTUAL WORK: Napabilib ang buong Pandanggo Hall sa kanya hehehe…i mean bilib
na bilib sa kanya ang mga guests namin. Galing ng diction, very lively and
sosyal ang dating (ayaw kasi ni MIL ng basta emcee lang…naku, sabi nya sa amin
ni hubby, pag sumablay si emcee, sya daw mageemcee hehehe…buti na lang hindi
natuloy kasi kahit sya, super satisfied sya sa hosting skill ni Marj). She see
to it na magtatanong muna sya sa mga family kung ano ang tamang pronunciation ng
surnames (for example yung surname na namin ni hubby, instead of Izar
(Filipino), Izar (ay-zar, kasi yung ang pronunciation pagdating sa US) yung
sinabi nya, as per instruction ni MIL…pati rin yung isang guest na American,
tama rin ang pronunciation. Walang nagviolent reaction hehehe
NOEL & KRISEL’S VERDICT: Highly recommended talaga si marj Super bait na,

How do you engage your guests in your reception program? The key is to be creative and to try new things.

Here’s a sample traditional reception program sequence:

1. Couple welcomes guests into the reception hall

2. The entrance of the primary sponsors, the secondary sponsors and the parents, is announced.

3. The couple’s entrance is announced.

4. Food is served. The bride and groom go around and have their photo taken with the guests of each table (or the guests have their photo taken on the couple’s table) .

5. The best man and the maid/matron of honor offer a wedding toast.

6. The parents of the bride & groom  give short speeches.

7. The couple cuts their wedding cake and drinks champagne/wine.

8. The couple releases the wedding doves (it depends on your reception venue, if possible, some couples releases their doves after the wedding ceremony).

9. The single ladies pull the cake charms/favors (single ladies game)

10. The bride tosses her bouquets to the single ladies.

11. The groom removes the garter from his bride and tosses it to the bachelors (or any reception game for all the bachelors)

12. The bachelor who catches the garter places it on the leg of the lady who catches the bouquet. Alternatively, the pair gets to dance together after the newlywed couple.

13. The couple gives a thank you speech.

14. The couple has their first dance. The parents and the guests follow.

See where you can inject special features, such as surprise numbers, AVP presentation or a tribute to your parents. To get your guests really involved, you may even have one or two games. Just make sure that there are not too many items in the program; consider the attention span of your guests and the ideal program length (an hour at most, perhaps)

You may also opt to go non traditional parts of the program, such as the doves and the bouquet and garter tossing.

One of the important aspects of the reception program is the music, so make sure that you can get a good band or mobile system that will give you great value for your money. It is common among Filipinos to have several friends and relatives volunteering to render a song during the reception, but you must not feel obliged to accommodate everybody. To avoid uneasy situations that many couples have already experienced, assigned somebody to make sure that “surprise numbers” do not include songs that are inappropriate for the occasion.  Also, double check your venue’s sound equipment and request to have extra microphones as well as stand by equipment pieces as a contingency measure.

Lastly, make sure that you get a really good master of ceremonies. Anexperienced professional is great if you want a smooth-flowing program, because he or she will know just what to do to keep the crowd engaged. A professional is also experienced in avoiding or handling uncomfortable gaps. However, also consider getting someone close to you and/or your groom and familiar with the other people at the wedding. Not only will it save you some costs, it can also ensure that a personal approach will be taken.  A friend or relative with a really good hosting sense will not have to rely only on the script when introducing people and running the program flow.

11:00am (Bride’s Home or Bridal Suite) - The Bride, with her parents, maid of honor and bridesmaids, etc., prepares for the ceremony. Hair and make up artist, photo/video crew, and florist (carrying bridal bouquet and other entourage flowers) arrive.

12:00pm (Best Man’s Home) - The best man gets ready for the ceremony and make sure that he has the rings.

12:30pm (Bride’s Home or Bridal Suite) – The coordinator/maid of honor checks all final arrangement.

1:00pm (Groom’s Home or Suite) – The Groom and his parents get ready for the ceremony.

1:30pm (Groom’s Home or Suite) – The best man arrives to look after the groom.

2:15pm (Church) – The ushers arrive and check out seating and parking.

2:20pm (Bride’s Home or Hotel preps) – The bridal car arrives.

2:25pm (Groom’s Home or Suite) – Best Man contacts the bride’s father to let him know that he and the groom are about to leave for the church.

2:35pm (Church) – The groom and the best man arrive.

2:40pm (Church) – As guests begin to arrive, ushers give them ceremony programs, etc. and escort them to their seats. They also inform guests of any confetti or camera restrictions. Also, the best man seeks out the priest/minister to pay any outstanding church fees.

2:40pm (Bride’s Home/Bridal Suite) – The bridesmaids, etc. leave for the church.

2:45pm (Bride’s Home/Bridal Suite) – The bride and her parents leave for the church.

2:50pm (Church) – The bride and her parents arrive at the church.

3:00pm (Church) – The ceremony begins!

3:45pm (Church) – The newlyweds take part in a photo session then leave the church.

4:30pm (Reception Venue) – Both sets of parents, the best man and the maid of honor arrive at the reception and start to form a receiving line.

4:40pm (Reception Venue) – They are joined by the newlyweds.

4:50pm (Reception Venue) – Guests arrive and are welcomed by the bridal party.

5:30pm (Reception Venue) – The wedding reception commences with a banquet.

6:30pm (Reception Venue) – The reception program proper commences.

7:30pm (Reception Venue) – Dancing commences and the party begins.

9:00pm (Reception Venue) – The party ends, and the newlyweds leave for their honeymoon. The attendants and the parents take care of wrapping the extra food as well as bringing home the gifts.

Remember once again, this is you day, and you deserve no less than a royal treatment. If you should get less than that, here are some tips:

* Inform others of lapses – If the champagne is warm and the food is cold at the reception, don’t be embarrassed about giving the person concerned a firm reprimand. Ask someone in authority, such as your father or the best man, to get it sorted as soon as possible.

* Have alternatives ready – If the band or DJ fails to turn up or turns in a bad performance, have available a stack of wedding style tapes or CD and the appropriate equipment.

* Deal with disturbances – serious drunks who turn aggressive should be expelled from your wedding immediately…unless of course he happens to be the groom.

* Have a temporary retreat – At your reception venue, book a room that will be your haven from the stress, the noise and the crowd. FRom time to time, you can slip away for a few moments with your new husband and wife and you can both gather your thoughts and exchange a well-earned cuddle.

Finally, after saying goodbye to your guests and starting on your way to your honeymoon, your adventure as husband and wife begins!
